After completing an M.A. in Political Economy Ed Peters became a staff photographer at the Star Ledger, in Newark, New Jersey. In 1990 , he relocated to Asia, where he photographed the plight of Burmese refugees and the pro-democracy movement in Nepal. After returning to the United States, he joined the photo agency Impact Visuals. For several years he photographed various subjects.These include the famine in Somalia, war in Croatia, and the continuing AIDs crisis. He now focuses on his personal work, with an emphasis on street photography.
