Stu Egan was born near Liverpool in England in 1975. He currently lives in London and works as a book editor. His interest in photography developed in 2005, and after wandering down a few blind alleys he eventually became passionate about street photography, and the limitless possibilities it offers. He continues to wander down blind alleys but, more often than not, nowadays it's through choice.
For Stu, as with many other photographers, the draw of street photography is its capacity to open the photographer's eyes to subtle aspects of the environment and everyday interactions that pass a lot of people by. Even though he knows there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking a picture in public, he still feels as though he is doing something risky, and enjoys the feeling.
In the spare time that remains, Stu also edits and designs Radiate Magazine, a biannual street photography publication he set up in 2011.
